In this approach I attempted to create a game level with few modular assets. Each peice was more customizable, but creating the entire set required much more work. I started out the project by laying out the floorplans for all the buildings. I extruded each one, joined the floors together, uv unwrapped them, then went through the process of creating the custom textures/materials that would be applied on each surface.
Going off of lessons learned from the previous experience creating buildings in UDK, I decided to be as modular as possible.
I created convex collision hulls for each peice in the bunker construction kit.
I've found a happy medium between having complex set peices, and repeating wall segments.
I built this over a period of 5 days. the static mesh has less tris than a typical character.
